There's a lot that can be said about the simplicity, yet richness and deliciousness of this guava barbecue sauce, however let me not waste too much time so you can go ahead and try it.

I first had this sauce as a condiment in a restaurant, and immediately fell in love with it. The sweetness from the guava is hinted throughout, with the tangy, robust flavors from the barbecue sauce.

Of course, if you know me, you know I had to re-create this at home. What I love about making this at home is how you can alter this to your liking. If you like it sweeter, more guava flavor, if you'd like it to be spicy, it's all up to you. You can also make ahead a big batch and store some in the freezer for when needed.

This recipe just requires 3 ingredients, water being one of them. We will also be using guava paste which can be found usually in a can or wrapped in plastic depending on the brand, and also barbecue sauce. I will be using an organic honey barbecue sauce but add whichever is your favorite.

It is so simple and yet so delicious, let's go right ahead and dive into this deliciousness.

Ingredients

1. In a small saucepan, add your guava paste and water. To help guava paste melt easily, cut into small chunks.

2. On medium low heat, stirring occasionally, melt your guava paste into the water. A

3. Add in your barbecue sauce and stir to combine well.

4. Cook until guava paste is melted.
